Preliminary Program Schedule

This year the breakout sessions will include a mixture of gatherings of issue-focused planning and skill building workshops. The attendees will select the issue foci that will be offered.

Exhibit Setup & Preview (7:30 - 8:00)

Opening (8:45 – 9:15)    Olympia UU Congregation welcomes us, shares the warmth of their chalice, and launches our day of insight, connection, and commitment to our justice work.

Here for You ... All Year Long (9:15 – 9:35)    Jolinda Stephens and Susan Morrison (WA UU Voices) and DD Hilke and Dick Jacke (NW UU Justice Network) explain how our organizations can amplify and  support Unitarian Universalist justice work.

Touching the Heart — Changing History (9:45 – 10:45)    Keynote Speaker, Paul Benz, of Washington’s Faith Action Network, will share his experience of ways people of faith can work together for justice.

Breakout #1: For Issues / For Advocacy (11:00 – 12:00)   What’s your justice issue or advocacy need?  Work with folks who share your passion for that issue, or learn new advocacy, leadership or collaboration skills.  Connect.  Get traction.  Mobilize.

This is the first of three breakout sessions, covering 12 justice issues and 6 workshops for skills development over the course of the day.

Resource Area: LUNCH & EXHIBITS (12:00 – 1:00)    Time out for informal networking over lunch, and to visit exhibits that will introduce you to issues, programs and resources you can use in your justice work. 

Breakout #2: For Issues/Advocacy (1:00 – 2:15) Choose another issue or opt for a workshop.

Breakout #3: For Issues/Advocacy (2:30 –  3:30)    Your third opportunity for an issue focus or a workshop

Moving Forward (3:45 –  5:00)  Time to add it all up for our issues, our advocacy, and the year ahead.  We reflect on the results of our work, and propose ways to actively pursue justice this year.
