"Reclaiming Prophetic Witness" New Common Read

"The earth and her people cry out in anguish, in indignation, and, yet still, in hope. In times like these, prophets must speak loudly, clearly and with many voices." by Dan McKanan from the Introduction to Reclaiming Prophetic Witness: Liberal Religion in the Public Square by Paul Rasor

Each year the UUA decides on a Common Read to focus our attention as a faith movement on one urgent issue. One book that UUs everywhere are reading. In the past books have focused on such issues as immigration and the plight of low income workers. This year it doesn't focus on an issue, rather on the need for us to regain our prophetic voice and speak out in the public square. Just what UU Voices for Justice was established to do.

We urge you to read and discuss the book as a congregation. UU Voices is available for a follow-up workshop on Developing and Using Your Prophetic Voice. Contact our Coordinator, Jolinda Stephens at coordinator@uuvoiceswa.org.
